There are many misconceptions about the "Pit Bull". Resist ignorance: educate yourself and others about this beautiful and misunderstood breed.
Animal Shelters all across the country are over populated with pit bulls. Backyard breeders and irresponsible owners contribute to this growing problem. So many people do not take into consideration all of the work it takes to be a responsible pet owner and their dogs end up in the shelter. With society's negative view of this breed, they often do not make it out of the shelter.
If you are considering a pit bull, PLEASE RESCUE ONE!!! There are tons of pure-bred APBT's in the shelters. H.A.L.T. Rescue is proud of our pitties, and we hope you will consider them in your search for a new family member. If you find a pit at the shelter you would like to save, H.A.L.T. Rescue would be happy to do a temperament test for you and your family. Just Ask!!
