Mindy Loo Whooo...
One of a Kind. Then.....
H.A.L.T. Rescue was able to end 2010 in a very special way! We took in a very special 3 month old pitbull puppy that was a product of the worst imaginable breeding. The puppy had been left behind in a house with no food or water in the freezing cold temperatures for what sheriff deputies believe could have been a week. The puppy was discovered when they went to serve an eviction on a house that evidently was known for breeding and fighting pitbulls. The property was vacant but there sat Mindy Loo behind a closed bedroom door. Her legs were twisted and she was freezing. The deputies took her to the shelter where they were told she would be euthanized due to her deformities. They were not willing to accept that and our number was given.
Mindy Loo was skinny as a rail with a belly full of worms.
She went through a ten day quarantine and began to gain some weight.
Mindy Loo is currently under the care of a vet and receiving a good nutritional diet in hopes that some of her bone damage can be reversed. Sadly enough her front leg is so badly deformed that the outlook is bleak and we will be prepared for the worst if no improvement occurs.
