Handsome Bentley and his two sisters were left at the doorstep of a veterinary office. Our rescue was asked to help find him a home where he will be loved and pampered. Meet DJ and hs best friend Jasper. They are the best of friends and were found roaming the streets together. They are inseparable. Both boys are a well behaved, mid-sized couple that will keep each other entertained and out of trouble while you are at work. They do well in a house but are also acclimated to a nice shady backyard where they can rest the afternoon away. They are playful, respond to their names and enjoy car rides. Edward is a sweet boy who was found in the cornfields by a farmer. Tired and hungry, one of our volunteers took him in as a foster to help recover him and find him his forever home. Meet Gigi, a gorgeous big girl! Gigi was rescued from the streets in a horrible part of town. She was homeless and she is a survivor! She will lick you to death, roll over for endless belly rubs and stay huddled in your lap for hours. She will make a true and loyal companion. Honey is an adorable 1 1/2 yr old goof-ball. She was abandoned at the Carson shelter in Los Angeles County on St. Patrick's day and no one would give her a chance. Her luck changed and she was brought up to Bakersfield for a second chance at loving home. She's great with everyone, and seems to be okay with other dogs. She may need some training but has been very responsive to verbal commands. Honey is UTD on all her shots and is spayed. Gem is a quiet little guy who gets along with everyone!!! He is passive and cooperative and would make a very good dog for any household. Gem is compatible with other dogs and likes children also! Gem is a good 'stay by your side' dog.He has proven to be very adaptible. He will make a great indoor dog and with a little effort can be crate trained. R.J.(Rusty Jr.)

R.J.(Rusty Jr) is the All-American dog. This is just a happy-go-lucky guy who loves to play, run with the kids, catch a ball or just kick back. To some he may just be an average looking guy but he will make up for that with his winning personality and all the love he has to give. He would make a great family pet because he enjoys being in the center of activity. R.J. loves to ride in the car and is always ready for a road trip which he hopes is to the dog park. He does have energy so we suggest a home with a yard and someone who enjoys throwing a ball or taking a run. R.J. does not like having to be at a kennel so we are hoping he will find a home soon. He is up to date on shots, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $200 and that will be used directly to save another dog in need.

Jake

Meet Jake (and his sidekick Jody) !!! Jake is a mature Border Collie that was turned into the shelter with his lifelong friend. Jake is a great guy and all Border Collie. He is right by your side looking for his next command. Although an adult, he has alot of pep and loves to play. Jake walks well on a leash and loves to ride in the car. We believe he is crate trained. Jake and Jody truly compliment each other and we would love for them to find a home together. They are both low key and require minimal energy from their master. Jake (and Jody) are current on shots, microchipped and neutered. The adoption fee is $200 per dog. A 'together home' adjustment will be made if the dogs remain as a pair.

Jodi

Jody is a wise, older terrier that was discarded by her owner and sent to the shelter after years in her home. She and her very best friend, a boder collie, would love to stay together. They are a complimentary pair that do not demand much more that a secure yard and a loving home. Jodi is very pensive and may be a bit shy at first. Once she knows you her gentle demeanor is always present. She is a loving dog and will fit well into any family. Jodi walks well on the leash and does not demand much exercise. She and Jake would love to stay together. Jodi is spayed, microcip and up to date on shots.Their adoption fee is $200 each with a adoption fee adjustment if they should be rehomed together.

Journey

Meet Journey.... his story is a work in progress and his life a journey he is travelling until he finds a home. Found by a cross-country trucker standing bewildered in the center of a freeway.. he was thought to have been hit by a car but his pads were so hot from the summer asphalt that he limped. He was loaded in the truck and with no choice was left at the shelter in the town he was found. The trucker moved on but her heart stayed with Journey and she contacted local media and was able to get Journeys story on the news. Still no help came and Journey was scheduled to be euthanized. When we heard this story we rescued this great guy. At first, he was stand-offish but now he is loving and friendly. He is learning to mind, walk on a leash and is acquiring manners.Journey will make a loyal pet.He is looking for a foster or forever home. his travelling days are over..please help him find his forever home. He is current on shots, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $200 and that will go directly to saving another dog in need.!!!

Pogo

Happy-go-lucky Pogo is a one year old Cairin Terrier mix weighing approximately 12 lbs. This little guy is eager to please and find a home he can call his own. He knows basic obedience commands and has gone to agility class. He likes to play.... ecpecially with balls and toys. His terrier genetics makes him a natural and we encourage his new owner to continue his training. He is a great little dog but has not been raised with children so we are suggesting a mature household. He is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on shots. He also has a face which is hard to resist. His adoption fee is $200 and that will help our rescue save another dog in need.

Baby Jane

The girl with the Betty Davis eyes!!!! Baby Jane is one of the friendliest and loving dogs I have ever met. Her tail literally never stops wagging. She loves whomever she is with. Her color and behavior traits are very JRT but her size is larger. She may just be an all-American which could account for her intelligence and quickness to catch on. Baby Jane loves to ride in the car and play ball. She is eager to have her own home once again. We cannot yet vouch for her home training but we believe her to be housebroken. She weighs about 45lbs. She is microchiped, up-to-date on shots and spayed. Her adoption fee is $200 and that will help save another dog in need.

Sasha

Sasha is a very special girl. Her story is endearing. Our rescue was notified of this stray girl by two different parties.Unable to locate her she was taken in by animal control. We watched her pass through the system and when her time was up and no one showed interest we took her. She was so thin and embedded with ticks...they were piled on her. Clumped to her neck, between her toes and in her ears. For two hours we pulled and plucked and she never once battled us. She was then soothed with a tea tree rinse and left the pet spa feeling like a million bucks.This girl is a sweetie. She will kiss you to death. Her overall temperment is superb. She is playful and could use a refresher in basic obedience but she is smart and will catch on quickly. She gets along with other dogs and will be cat tested before adopted. Sasha is just one of those dogs you love at first sight. We are hoping she finds a home or a foster quickly. Please contact our rescue if you are interested. Abbey and Dinozo

Abbey and Dinozo are two peas in a pod. If you are looking for a compatible pair these two will double your pleasure. They are full of personality and are well mannered. Of the two, Abbey is more shy but together they are confident explorers. Abbey and Dinozo are people and animal friendly. They have been together since birth and we are hoping it will stay that way as they are a bonded pair. Both are altered, microchipped and up-to-date on shots and and are ready for their new forever home. Abbey and Dinozo have had an interesting life... they are ready to settle down. The adoption fee for the pair is $250 and that will help to save another animal in the shelter or in need.

Buster

Buster loves to play!!!!! It is his middle name and is the very existence of his day. If he had his choice he would never stop! Buster is happy and rambunctious.He is looking for a home with a large yard and an owner who can provide him with lots of exercise. He is also the perfect candidate for obedience training and we encourage his new owner to pursue this higher level of education for Buster. Weighing close to 40lbs Buster needs to be reminded of his strength when playing with others. Time out is often on his agenda. Buster has potential...he just needs to find the special person to help make him shine. Buster is microchipped, up to date on shots and neutered. Chloe

Chloe is an 8lb chihuahua mama. She was hungry, pregnant and abandoned by her owner when she came to us. She is now a 2-3 year old single mom and has turned out to be one of our sweetest dogs. She may look ordinary but she has lots of love to give and offers herself as the best dog ever. Chloe is now looking for a family of her own to make her feel special. BoBo

BoBo is the greatest!!! This gentle giant has you at hello!!! A sad victim of a home foreclosure...... a brief stay at the animal shelter......a new life awaits! Checking in at nearly a hundred pounds BoBo is slightly confused on his size and thinks laps were made for him!!!! Bobo must have been well loved by his previous owner as he readily gives affection and bonds quickly.BoBo has the basics down. He sits, lays amd walks nicely on a leash. He rides shotgun in cars due to crates just don't befit him. He does get a bit nervous in the car and again looks for the lap position.We think this is because he must associate his last ride with leaving his family. He will get over it! BoBo loves to give his paw and will actually hug you with it. Everywhere he goes he is noticed due to his handsome face and extraordinary size. BoBo is large and will need a bit of room however he also seems very content to just hang out. His mellow personality makes him a perfect fit for anyone's life, Bobo is up-to-date on shots, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $300. Sandy

Sandy is playful, energetic, and loves attention. She was found in a wood pile in the oil fields taking care of her 5 puppies. Shes ready to have someone take care of her now! She weighs about 15 pounds and we think she is about 2 years old. She loves to run and play but also loves to curl up in your lap for a nap. She is a very smart girl and is eager to please. To our knowledge she has not been around younger children but has done fine with older children and other dogs. Her adoption fee is $150, which includes spay, up-to-date vaccinations, and microchip and also helps us to rescue another dog in need.
